As the General Manager of Missbeez London, a mobile beauty services app, but also a working mom to a very curious 7-month old daughter, I know how hard it is to fit in time for yourself, not just to relax but to also make sure you somewhat resemble a female of the species. All too often we overlook the small things that we used to take for granted when childless. The regular bikini wax, getting your nails done every fortnight and even making sure your eyebrows were on point before the Thursday night drinks.

Now we are focused on making sure the kids are picked up from school or nursery on time, their diet doesn’t purely consist of processed food and that the 3rd parent (TV) isn’t rotting their brains.

There is so much social pressure out there to make sure your kids have an insta-fabulous childhood full of magic, adventure and matching outfits, not sitting impatiently in a beauty salon whilst you try to rush through a treatment before they bring the house down.

This is why when I first found out about Missbeez, I needed to try them out for myself before committing the next few years of my professional life to them. I downloaded the app and booked myself a manicure and pedicure. Having never had a “at home” beauty service before, I didn’t quite know what to expect.

When Nazare arrived, I got a little ding from the app to tell me she was here which gave me a few minutes to wipe the baby down so she looked semi presentable. Nazare was warm and friendly, and like me a working mom. She efficiently set up her trolley all whilst talking to my daughter and keeping her engaged. Immediately the dread of trying to juggle the act of managing Charlotte whilst also not making Nazare’s life painful left me.

These girls are used to coming into your home and seeing you in all states, and the best thing is…. they really don’t care.

I love that I can still be in my pyjamas at 4pm in the afternoon and have someone come and give me a full set of gel nails, and wax my eyebrows. What I also love is the message of Missbeez “Your treat = Her success.” I really feel like I am making a difference and helping another woman directly grow her own businesses and in connection helping to support her family with every treatment I book.

The whole process from start to finish was easy and comfortable and I really think that this has really changed the way I will view my beauty regime forever.

We get a lot of emails from moms, especially working moms, who are asking how long our services take because they have to try and coordinate their pamper time with the babies nap time or when they need to be fed. I make sure that we go out of our way to assure each and every woman that one of our biggest goal is to make sure they feel completely relaxed and comfortable at all times, and this includes if you have to breastfeed mid pedicure.

As Sheryl Sandberg said, help women to help other women. We strongly believe in this message at Missbeez.
